Post-Swim

Sharing is caring!

Vacation this year was a road trip from Michigan to Minnesota where we met up with family from across the country. A summer tradition for as long as I can remember, we all converge at Grandma’s cabin on Big Birch Lake. The cabin is small, but the lake is not and most of our time is spent lakeside – floating, swimming, sunning and chatting.

The kids in the family have all grown up with digital cameras everywhere. Since birth they’ve had their pictures taken constantly and by everyone, so they’re very aware of a camera. I took hundreds of photos documenting our week together and wanted to capture mostly candid moments. The photo above is of my nephew just after a morning swim. The camera was at my hip and he had no idea it was pointed at him. It’s the truest candid of the week.
