Sapsucker Holes

Sharing is caring!

It was so interesting watching these yellow-bellied sapsuckers attack a pair of birch trees. They would drill shallow holes, leave, and then return a few minutes later to drink the sap. Though there was plenty of competition for the sap, including: bees, hummingbirds, chipmunks and squirrels.
