Vacation Adventures: Kodachrome Basin State Park

Sharing is caring!

This park wasn’t on our radar at all. But after 4 hours exploring the plowed trails of Bryce Canyon, we were done much earlier in the day than planned and stumped on what to do next. On the recommendation of the park ranger manning the info desk at the Bryce Canyon Visitor’s Center, we drove 45 minutes to the end of a rural road that lead to Kodachrome Basin State Park.

There were few people in the park – we only saw one other couple the entire time – and after going through several busy parks on our trip, it was fun to feel like we were alone in the world. It was a picture perfect day and the lower elevation of Kodachrome Basin made for great, (almost) snow-free hiking.
