Grapefruit and tequila are a great match. This cocktail recipe started as a craving for a Paloma, but I didn’t have any grapefruit soda. So now it’s not quite a Paloma! But it IS easy and delicious.
Makes 1 cocktail.
3 oz fresh grapefruit juice
2 oz silver tequila
1 oz simple syrup
0.5 oz fresh lime juice
Place everything in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake it all up. Strain into a glass filled with ice.
Enjoy!
Tips on (Not Quite a) Paloma
- Fresh juice is super important in this cocktail, both for the grapefruit and lime. Take the time to juice the fruit and skip the bottled stuff.
- Make it a more traditional Paloma by topping this cocktail with 3 oz of club soda or grapefruit soda.
- Like a margarita, this cocktail is delicious with a salted rim! Run a piece of grapefruit around the edge of your glass and dip it in a shallow dish of salt, before you add your ice and pour your drink.
Snack Pairing
This grapefruit cocktail goes great with creamy avocado corn salsa.
