You can use whatever vodka you like in this recipe. I use a mid-priced vodka for infusions. The most important thing is to start with a non-flavored vodka.

Can I use frozen blueberries?

Yes. Frozen blueberries work great for this infusion, but they will color the vodka much more than fresh blueberries will. If you decide to use frozen blueberries, you can put them in the vodka while frozen. There’s no need to thaw the blueberries first.

Do I have to use a glass jar for my liquor infusion?

Yes. This part is important. Plastic can take on the flavors of what was in it before and/or absorb what’s in them. Since you’re letting the infusion sit in its container for days, using a plastic container can impact the flavor of your vodka in unexpected - and not good - ways. Using a glass container, like a pint mason jar, will ensure nothing impacts the flavor of your blueberry vodka.

How do I store homemade blueberry vodka?

You can store your vodka at room temperature or in the refrigerator. It will last longer in the fridge, so it just depends on your storage preferences and how fast you think you’ll drink the vodka.

How long will blueberry vodka keep?

When stored at room temperature, the vodka will keep for up to 6 weeks. In the refrigerator, your blueberry vodka will keep for up to 3 months.
