Roasted garlic is easy to make and adds a great depth of flavor to so many dishes.

The flavor of garlic mellows and sweetens once it's spent time in the oven. Make in advance, store it in your pantry, and you're ready to quickly enhance your favorite savory dishes with slow-cooked flavor.

    How To Make Roasted Garlic:

1.) Heat the oven to 375 degrees.

2.) Place a garlic bulb on its side on a cutting board and using a sharp knife, cut the top off the bulb far enough to expose the tops of the cloves inside.

3.) Stack 2 large squares of aluminum foil together. Do this for each bulb of garlic you're going to roast.

4.) Place the garlic bulb - top up - on to the squares of aluminum foil.

5.) Pour 1 tablespoon of olive oil over each bulb of garlic.

6.) Loosely wrap each bulb in the aluminum foil, being careful not to wrap too tightly or pierce the foil.

Raw garlic, wrapped in foil and ready for the oven.

7.) Place foil balls of garlic on a rimmed baking and bake for 25-30 mins or until cloves are soft.

8.) Remove garlic from oven and allow to cool.

9.) Remove cloves from their skins, using a paring knife where needed to open the skins.

10.) Place roasted garlic cloves into a small glass jar.

11.) Once all cloves are in the jar, fill it with enough olive oil to completely cover all of the cloves.

12.) Store tightly covered in a cool, dry place for up to 4 weeks.
