Grapefruit Simple Syrup for Drinks
Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
Using a vegetable peeler, remove 2 large strips of peel from the outside of the grapefruit. Add grapefruit peel to the pot and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
Remove peels using a fork or pour the syrup through a fine mesh strainer.
Refrigerate syrup until ready to use.
Use grapefruit syrup in place of simple syrup in a margarita or make this delicious Paloma Mocktail.
