Homemade Pear Simple Syrup

Ingredients:  – Cane sugar – Water – Fresh, ripe pears

Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add pears.

Bring mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool.

Gently crush the pears in the pot using a potato masher or spatula. Strain the pear mixture through a fine-mesh sieve held over a bowl.

Use a spatula to gently stir the mixture in the strainer until all of the syrup moves through into the bowl below.

Store your syrup in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Pear Syrup is an essential ingredient in my non-alcoholic Thanksgiving Mocktails. You can make them by the glass or by the pitcher! (Swipe up for the recipe).
