Homemade  Basil Simple Syrup

Ingredients:  – Sugar – Water – Fresh basil

Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. 

Add basil leaves and let the mixture cool to room temperature.

Remove the basil leaves. Refrigerate syrup until ready to use. 

Use basil syrup to sweeten iced tea, or mix with lemon juice and soda water for a quick homemade basil lemonade.
