Skip the slow cooker and make this easy Italian meatball appetizer on your stove top in less than 30 minutes. It's packed full of flavor, and perfect for game day.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs frozen meatballs
  • 36 oz marinara sauce (1.5 jars)
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1 loaf french bread (for serving)
  • 2 Tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Combine marinara sauce, dried basil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and balsamic vinegar in a high sided skillet over medium heat.

Cook until the mixture begins to bubble.

Add in frozen meatballs. Stir to combine.

Cover and simmer on medium-low heat for 20-25 minutes or until meatballs are thawed and heated through, stirring occasionally.

Remove lid and layer thin slices of mozzarella cheese over meatballs and sauce.

Cover again and simmer for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Sprinkle with fresh basil and serve immediately with fresh bread for dipping.
