Instructions
Bring water to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat.
1 cup water
Add sugar and stir until sugar has dissolved.
1 cup sugar
Remove from heat and add cinnamon sticks. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
2-3 cinnamon sticks
Pour syrup - including cinnamon sticks - into a glass, airtight container.
Remove cinnamon sticks after 24 hours.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
