A spooky drink for spooky season that the whole family can enjoy? Look no further than this Hocus Pocus Non-Alcoholic Halloween Punch. Made with a mix of fruit juices, it’s perfect for your next Halloween party and sure to be a big hit for those wanting a non-alcoholic drink.

Glasses of non-alcoholic Halloween punch.

I am such a fan of non-alcoholic punch at Halloween. While lots of adults love Halloween, the parties tend to involve kids, which means we need to make sure there’s a delicious drink for everyone to enjoy. This festive drink can be served in a large punch bowl, big pitcher, decanter, large cauldron – whatever you have on hand!

This delicious recipe is made with easy to find ingredients including lots of fruit juice. I like to make sure my drinks always look tasty, so by leaving out any kind of ice cream or frozen sweet element (like lime sherbet, orange sherbet or rainbow sherbet), I’m making sure my Halloween party punch looks delicious all night long. (When frozen treats melt in punch bowls, the results can be pretty unappetizing.)

I also stay away from dry ice when serving large batch drinks, especially Halloween drinks for kids. Dry ice is fun, but dangerous if touched with bare hands. So rather than try to keep people away from the Halloween punch bowl until the dry ice has dissolved, I’d rather just use regular ice and let my guests enjoy this fun punch immediately.

Ingredients

Ingredients for Non-Alcoholic Halloween Punch.
  • Concord grape juice – Aka purple grape juice. Pick up a bottle at the grocery store, or mix it up from frozen concentrate before making this punch.
  • Orange juice – Buy a quality orange juice for this punch.
  • Ginger ale soda – You’ll need 16 ounces for your non-alcoholic punch, so 1 – 20 ounce bottle of soda from the grocery store works great. Don’t like ginger ale? Swap it out for lemon-lime soda.
  • Lime juice – You’ll need 4 ounces of lime juice for 1 batch of Halloween punch, so either squeeze 4-5 limes, or buy a bottle of quality lime juice.
  • Simple Syrup – Make your own simple syrup for this recipe! You only need sugar and water. Combine ⅔ cup of sugar with ⅔ cup of hot water to make just enough simple syrup for 1 batch of punch
  • Decorating sugar – I love using black sugar, purple sugar, orange sugar and/or green sugar to decorate the rims of glasses for this punch.
  • Orange slices, lime slices, or blackberries – Any combination of sliced oranges, lime wheels, and blackberries make for delicious and easy garnish for this mocktail punch.

How to Serve Non-Alcoholic Halloween Punch

Before your Halloween party, rim each of your serving glasses in colored decorating sugar. Use a cocktail pick to prep the garnish and set it either on a small plate or in each glass.

Set the prepared glasses on a tray near a full ice bucket and your punch bowl or pitcher of Hocus Pocus punch so guests can serve themselves.

FAQS

Can I add alcohol to this Halloween punch?

Of course! If you need a recipe for big batch cocktails instead of mocktails, simply add in 2 cups (16 oz) of vodka while making your Hocus Pocus punch.

What kind of garnish can I use to make it a more spooky halloween punch?

When it comes to this purple punch, I like to use fresh fruit – orange slices, lime wheels, etc. – as garnish in the pitcher or punch bowl to make sure nothing I add can ruin the flavor of the whole batch.

But the individual glasses are where you can really get into the spooky Halloween spirit! Add a ring with plastic spiders on it around the straw, drape a gummy worm on the rim of the glass, or use a Halloween drink pick to add some gummy eyeballs (or a little fresh fruit).

Recipe Tips

Keep the ice out of your punch bowl or pitcher. It’s so tempting to place lots of ice cubes in your pitcher or an ice ring in your punch bowl, but all this will do is make it more difficult to pour and water down your punch. Fill individual cups with ice cubes before serving to keep your drinks cold but not watered down.

Use any color decorating sugar you have on hand for rimming the glasses. I like to use “Halloween colors” – black, orange, purple, and green – but if you have red leftover from Christmas cookie decorating, use that! Don’t have any colored sugar? Use white sugar or raw sugar or just skip the sugar rim altogether.
