Blueberries and lime make a perfect pair, and nowhere is that more evident than in this refreshing Blueberry Margarita. Bursting with fresh summer blueberry flavor and balanced by the bright acidity of lime juice, this cocktail is a fruity twist on the classic margarita. Whether you’re sipping it poolside, serving it at a gathering, or just mixing up something special for happy hour, this Blueberry Margarita is as delicious as it is beautiful.
Full of simple ingredients easily found at your local grocery store, this fruity margarita is an easy way to make a drink full of flavor with only a handful of ingredients. Since there are only four ingredients in this cocktail, fresh limes are an important choice over bottled lime juice. Just that one ingredient will make a huge difference in the flavor of your drink!
Homemade blueberry syrup takes this margarita to the next level, infusing the drink with the deep, sweet flavor of real blueberries. Paired with smooth blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, and a touch of orange liqueur, it’s a simple yet flavorful cocktail that’s easy to make at home. And if you love a good salted rim, don’t skip that step—it enhances the tart-sweet flavors in the best way.
What’s In a Blueberry Margarita
- Tequila - I prefer blanco tequila (aka silver tequila) over reposado tequila in all of my margaritas, but choose your favorite tequila for this recipe.
- Blueberry Syrup - Make your own in just a few minutes! Get my recipe and instructions over on my Blueberry Syrup recipe page.
- Lime Juice - Fresh lime juice will make for the most delicious drink, so squeeze a fresh lime for this cocktail. You’ll need about 1 lime per drink.
- Orange Liqueur - Choose your favorite triple sec or orange-flavored liqueur (like Cointreau or Grand Marnier) to add a little sweetness to this margarita. Looking to cut down on the alcohol in your drinks? Swap it out for my orange syrup.
- Coarse Salt (optional) - An essential step in my house, rimming your margarita glass with some coarse salt is a delicious and very useful garnish.
- Fresh Blueberries (optional) - Float a few fresh blueberries onto the top of your blueberry margarita for a quick and easy garnish.
