When you’re craving a margarita that’s bright, fresh, and bursting with real fruit flavor, this fresh Raspberry Margarita delivers in every sip. Juicy raspberries, freshly squeezed lime juice, and smooth silver tequila come together for a cocktail that’s a little sweet, a little tart, and very refreshing.

Using fresh citrus and muddled berries make all the difference in this recipe, creating a naturally sweet-tart balance that bottled mixes just can’t match. A splash of orange liqueur adds depth, while homemade simple syrup lets you control the sweetness so the raspberry flavor really shines. Finished with a sparkling sugar rim (or salt, if that’s more your thing), this margarita is a fun addition to your afternoon happy hour.

Perfect for summer evenings, taco nights, or casual entertaining, this raspberry margarita is a crowd-pleaser that feels both festive and approachable. Whether you’re hosting friends or just treating yourself to a happy hour upgrade, this is a cocktail you’ll want to keep in your regular rotation. It’s the kind of drink that feels special but is still easy enough to shake up at home on a whim.

Ingredients

Ingredients for raspberry margaritas.
  • Silver tequila (or blanco tequila) – Choose your favorite silver tequila for this cocktail. I like using a mid-priced brand because we’re mixing so much into it. (Save the expensive brands for sipping straight.) Look for 100% blue agave on the label.
  • Limes – Fresh limes are the only way to go when creating this cocktail. Fresh citrus is the difference between an OK drink and a great drink! You’ll need about 1 lime per cocktail for this margarita.
  • Simple Syrup – This two ingredient syrup can be made in your microwave
  • Orange Liqueur – Choose your favorite orange liqueur like Cointreau or Grand Marnier for this recipe. Triple Sec is also delicious in this cocktail and is a bit more budget friendly.
  • Fresh Raspberries – Fresh raspberries work great for both the cocktail and garnish. If you can’t find fresh raspberries (or they’re too expensive), thaw frozen raspberries to use in the cocktail and skip them for the garnish.
  • Decorating Sugar (garnish) – This white sugar has big, crunchy crystals and is really fun for rimming a margarita class. If you’re not a sugar-rim person, swap it out for coarse salt.
