The refreshing zing of ginger beer, combined with the sweetness of fresh berries and the tartness of lime make for the most flavorful Ginger Beer Mocktails. They’re the ideal choice for any occasion. Whether you’re hosting a summer barbecue, celebrating a special occasion, or simply unwinding after a long day, these delicious drinks offer a burst of flavor without the need for alcohol.

One of my favorite things about ginger beer mocktails is their versatility. You can easily customize them to suit your taste, mood, or whatever you happen to have on hand!

Try different combinations of berries like strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries to create unique flavors. Add a splash of fruit juice or a hint of flavored syrup for an extra twist. Don’t forget to garnish with fresh herbs! The possibilities are endless, allowing you to craft a mocktail that reflects your individual tastes.

For those who prefer a bit of a kick in their beverages, adding alcohol to ginger beer mocktails is a breeze. A shot of vodka, rum, or even gin can elevate your drink while still allowing the vibrant flavors of the berries and lime to shine through. (See my tips below.)

Whether you choose to keep it alcohol-free or add a spirited twist, ginger beer mocktails are sure to impress your guests. Plus, they’re a great way to include everyone in the celebration – no matter their preference for alcohol.

Ingredients

Ingredients for ginger beer mocktails.
  • Berries – Choose your favorite berries or whatever’s in season, one or any combination – strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries
  • Lime – There are so few ingredients in these mocktails, only fresh lime juice will do. You’ll also want fresh lime for the garnish.
  • Mint – Fresh mint leaves are the only option for this drink. You’ll need enough for both in your drink and the garnish.
  • Ginger Beer – Choose your favorite ginger beer for this recipe. (Mine is Gosling brand.) If you don’t like a strong ginger flavor, opt for ginger ale instead.

Recipe Tips

As written, this is not a sweet mocktail. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add in half an ounce of simple syrup with the berries, mint, and lime juice.

Make it your own! Add a sugar rim, swap the lime for blood orange, use basil instead of mint – the ideas are as endless as your imagination!

What kind of ginger beer should I choose?

I love a strong kick of ginger in my ginger beer and always use Gosling. If you want to use something with less of a bite, try Fevertree or Betty Buzz.

Make it a Ginger Beer Cocktail

It’s super easy to turn your Ginger Beer Mocktail into a cocktail by adding liquor like vodka, rum or gin. Vodka is a classic choice that pairs well with ginger beer and allows the other flavors to shine. Rum adds a tropical twist – use light or dark rum – plus warmth and depth to the drink.  The herbal notes of gin complement the ginger and mint beautifully. 1-2 ounces of any of these liquors mixed into your Ginger Beer Mocktail can create a refreshing cocktail in minutes.

I love a good snack with my drinks. These easy Savory Spiced Nuts can be made ahead in the slow cooker, so they’re always at the ready. Or try something you can make right before happy hour time –  like these honey goat cheese walnut bites, whipped ricotta dip, or caprese crostini
