Making Fruit and Sugar Syrups
Head over to my DIY Syrup page for the recipe and complete instructions on how to make just about any flavor of fruit syrup or sugar syrup. This is a key ingredient in these easy and delicious mocktail recipes. Fruit syrups take about 15 minutes to make, but do need 1-2 hours of chill time, so you want to make them ahead of time.
Tips on Mocktails
Sparkling water comes in all kinds of flavors! Berry and citrus sparkling water flavors are delicious in mocktails featured above and will enhance the flavor of your drink.
These mocktails are low in calories compared to a traditional cocktail, making them a good choice if you’re keeping things low carb or low calorie. You can also use a sugar substitute when making the syrup to low the calories even more.
Want a sweeter sip? Swap the sparkling water for a lemon-lime soda like Sprite or Sierra Mist.
Have some guests that want alcohol in their drinks? Add 1-2oz of vodka or rum to any of these recipes to make it a cocktail.
Let your taste buds be your guide and make up your own mocktail combinations! Take whatever fruit is in the fridge and whatever herbs are growing on the porch and get mixing. 🙂
