Skip to Recipe Watch the VideoPumpkin spice latte meets vodka martini in this easy and delicious drink. With all the flavors of fall – like pumpkin pie and cozy spices – this Pumpkin Spice Martini makes a fantastic fall drink or Thanksgiving cocktail.

The perfect cocktail for after Thanksgiving dinner or a fall cocktail hour, this pumpkin spice martini is a little sweet, a little decadent, and sure to be one of your new favorite fall cocktails.
We’re skipping graham crackers on the rim of the glass and other more complex garnishes in favor of a sprinkle of nutmeg, one of the key ingredients in pumpkin pie spice mix. You can also garnish this delicious cocktail with a cinnamon stick if you prefer.
Ingredients

- Vodka – Choose your favorite plain vodka for this recipe (I like Titos), or make some pumpkin infused vodka to increase the pumpkin flavor.
- Pumpkin spice syrup – Make homemade pumpkin spice syrup or buy some at the store.
- Irish cream liqueur – My preference is Five Farms Irish cream for this recipe, but Baileys Irish cream works well in this recipe too.
- Heavy cream – This gives the drink a thicker texture, but you can swap this out for half and half if you prefer. Don’t use anything lower in fat than whole milk.
- Cold brew coffee – You can make cold brew coffee at home using espresso roast coffee, or you can buy unsweetened, unflavored cold brew coffee at the store.
- Aromatic bitters – Angostura brand is the gold standard and my preference, but any brand of aromatic bitters will work here.
- Fresh nutmeg (garnish) – You can use ground nutmeg, but I highly recommend buying whole nutmeg and grating it yourself. It really does taste (and smell!) so much better.

Recipe Tips
Make your pumpkin spice syrup ahead of time, so it has a couple hours to chill in the fridge.
Don’t want to buy or make cold brew coffee? Brew up strong coffee in your favorite coffee maker, then refrigerate it until you’re ready to make your cocktail.
Don’t like nutmeg? Use a sprinkle of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick to garnish your cocktail instead of the fresh nutmeg.

Make Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup
It takes just 10 minutes to make your own pumpkin spice simple syrup with real pumpkin puree. And since it lasts for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator, you can make it days ahead of your cocktail hour.

FAQs and Substitutions
Use your favorite plain vodka for this recipe. I love Titos vodka. Vanilla vodka and other sweetened vodkas will change the taste of this drink, so skip those. If you want to use a flavored vodka, infuse a plain vodka with pumpkin purée using the instructions on my DIY Pumpkin Infused Vodka page.
If you don’t like Irish cream liqueur, substitute another cream liqueur like RumChata for the Irish cream.
Angostura aromatic bitters are the gold standard and available at most major grocery and liquor stores. Look for it in the alcohol section of your favorite grocery store or near the mixer section of your liquor store.
Nope. I like to double strain this drink – pouring it through both the cocktail shaker’s strainer and a fine mesh strainer – to remove any small pieces of ice, or pumpkin puree from the syrup. If these things don’t bother you, feel free to skip the extra strainer.
