Snickerdoodle Popcorn is buttery kettle corn with a sprinkle of cinnamon cooked right in. It's highly addictive and a delicious cinnamon sugar sweet treat for your next family movie night.

When my daughter started requesting cinnamon popcorn, I had no idea how to make that happen. The results of a lot of experimentation and testing is this snickerdoodle popcorn recipe!

    Snickerdoodle Popcorn

    What You Need

    • Canola or other vegetable oil
    • Popcorn kernels
    • Sugar
    • Cinnamon
    • Butter
    • Salt

    How to Make Snickerdoodle Popcorn

Place butter in a small bowl and microwave in 10 second intervals until the butter is melted.

    Set aside.

Get out a large bowl and set it aside.

Place the oil and popcorn kernels in a large pot over medium-high heat.

    Stir to combine.

Put a lid on the pot and cook for 1-2 minutes until popcorn kernels begin to sizzle in the oil but have not yet started to pop.

Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the kernels. Give it a quick stir to combine.

Put a lid on the pot.

Swirl the pot without lifting it from the stove until kernels start to pop.

Let the popcorn pop until there’s 1-2 seconds between pops. Immediately remove from heat.

Remove the lid and immediately pour popcorn into a large bowl.

Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with salt.

    Toss the popcorn to combine.

    Enjoy!

    Tips on Snickerdoodle Popcorn

    Watch for burning!

Because of the sugar in this recipe, the popcorn will burn even more easily than normal. Be sure to immediately remove it from the stove once there’s a 2-3 seconds between pops and immediately remove it from the pot once it’s done.

What kind of oil should I use?

Any high heat, neutral tasting oil will work. Do not use olive oil.

How long will Snickerdoodle Popcorn last?

Store any leftover popcorn in a zip top bag for up to 48 hours.

Where can I find popcorn boxes?

Make movie night feel extra special and serve your popcorn in mini popcorn boxes!
