Halloween themed drinks – like this easy non-alcoholic Black Cat Halloween Mocktail – are fun and spooky sips, especially when made without alcohol so the whole family can enjoy them!

Whether you’re creating a fun drink for your next Halloween party or a way to get the older kids involved in Halloween night, this easy recipe for a Halloween Mocktail is perfect for Spooky Season.

Who doesn’t love a spooky drink on Halloween? But so many Halloween party drinks are full of artificial colors, or require purchasing plastic syringes or dry ice or other hard-to-find items in order to pull off the Halloween theme of the drink.

Those kinds of garnishes also make it hard for younger kids to enjoy fun Halloween drinks, so let’s make something that can be enjoyed by all ages!

Nothing in this drink requires lots of food coloring, and since there’s plenty of sugar in the juice and soda, we’re leaving out ice cream or lime sherbet typical in so many Halloween milkshakes and other spooky Halloween drinks. We’re going to eat plenty of Halloween candy to cover that sugar intake. 😉

I’m all about simple recipes with easy to find ingredients, so that’s what we’re using here! All of the super simple ingredients in this non-alcoholic Halloween mocktail came from my local grocery store.

Ingredients

Ingredients in a Halloween mocktail - Grape juice, lemon lime soda, limes, simple syrup, oranges, grapes, black sugar.
  • Concord grape juice – Purple grape juice is what gives this Halloween punch its color and flavor.
  • Orange juice – Fresh orange juice is best! Squeeze an orange for this recipe.
  • Lemon lime soda – Choose your favorite brand. I used Sprite when testing this recipe. You can also use ginger ale instead of lemon lime soda if you prefer.
  • Lime juice – Fresh is best, so squeeze a lime for this drink.
  • Simple Syrup – Super easy to mix up at home, make your simple syrup at least a few hours before serving your Halloween mocktails so it has time to cool in the fridge.
  • Black sugar (garnish) – This is for the sugar rim garnish. If you can’t find it, purple, orange or green sugar are all fun options.
  • Orange slices and red grapes (garnish) – Both are fun and super easy garnishes for this mocktail.

Recipe Tips

  • When making this recipe by the pitcher, be sure to chill all of your ingredients first. Placing the grape juice, orange juice, and soda in the refrigerator before you make the punch will help the ice melt slower.
  • Freeze your grape garnish. Wash a cup or two of red grapes, remove them from their stems, pat them dry with a paper towel and place them in a zip-top bag. Lay the bag flat in your freezer so the grapes are in a single layer and allow the grapes to freeze for at least 2-3 hours. (Do this the night before serving, if possible.) Use the frozen grapes as both drink garnish and a way to keep your mocktail colder for longer.

What else can I use for garnish on this drink?

Try gummy worms, or a colorful paper straw with spider rings around them for fun garnishes that really up the spook factor.
