Mocktails (What are mocktails?) are a great way to create delicious drinks for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re making drinks for kids and teens, those limiting their alcohol intake, people who don’t drink alcohol, or looking to reduce your calorie intake - mocktails fit the occasion.
Citrus Pomegranate Mocktails are so much fun to serve because you can go all out with the garnish! Add big leaves of mint, slices of orange, lime wedges, or pomegranate arils.
Pomegranate arils are the little, red, pearl-like pieces inside a pomegranate that contain the pomegranate seeds. (Did you know they had a separate name?! I didn’t!) You can buy a whole pomegranate and separate out the arils yourself - do this with the fruit submerged in a bowl of cool water - or you can buy the arils already out of the pomegranate and neatly packaged.
Ingredients
- Pomegranate juice
- An orange
- A lime
- Simple syrup
- Ginger beer
- Club soda or sparkling water
How to Make a Sparkling Citrus Pomegranate Mocktail
Place pomegranate juice, orange juice, lime juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake well and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
Top with chilled ginger beer and sparkling water.
Garnish with fresh mint leaves, an orange slice, a lime wedge, and/or pomegranate arils.
Enjoy!
Tips on Sparkling Citrus Pomegranate Mocktails
While you can use bottled orange juice and lime juice, fresh juice taste MUCH better and isn’t that hard to do. Take the extra few minutes and squeeze the fruit.
Ginger ale can be used instead of ginger beer if you want less of a ginger flavor. Don’t like ginger at all? Use lemon-lime soda instead.
Add 1.5 oz of vodka or rum to the cocktail shaker when mixing up the drink.

I made this for a friend who had a cold and she loved it. The citrus juices and no alcohol helped her feel no guilt about drinking it.
