    • Blueberry Vodka Lemonade Cocktail

Spiked blueberry lemonade is always a huge hit and one of my favorite blueberry cocktails to make. Vodka cocktails are popular in the summer since vodka mixes so well with fresh fruit. This blueberry vodka lemonade recipe makes a delicious cocktail for your next backyard bbq or for happy hour on the porch after a long day.

What's in a Blueberry Lemonade  Cocktail

    Ingredients for blueberry vodka lemonade.
    • Vodka - Choose your favorite plain vodka or infuse your own blueberry vodka at home.
    • Blueberry simple syrup - There are a couple different types of blueberry syrup available in specialty grocery stores, but the easiest way to do blueberry syrup is to make some yourself. It takes three ingredients in about 10 minutes. Get the recipe on my homemade blueberry syrup page.
    • Fresh lemon - All lemonade needs fresh lemons! Skip the bottle and squeeze fresh fruit. You'll need about half a lemon per cocktail.
    • Orange liqueur - Add sweet and a little more citrus. Choose your favorite for this cocktail.
    • Orange bitters - Orange bitters play up the citrus in your cocktail and add a depth of flavor. Don't have any? Leave them out and squeeze an orange peel over your drink instead. (Read more about how to Elevate Your Cocktails with Bitters)
    • Sparkling water or club soda - Choose your favorite brand, but make it plain in flavor.
    • Mint (for garnish) - A big, bright sprig of mint brings a freshness to this cocktail. Feel free to use a slice of lemon or fresh blueberries for garnish, if preferred.

How to Make Blueberry Vodka Lemonade

Vodka pouring into a cocktail shaker

Combine vodka, blueberry syrup, lemon juice, orange liqueur and orange bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Pouring blueberry lemonade mixture into a glass.

Shake well. Strain into a tall glass.

Club soda being poured into a glass.

Top with a splash of club soda.

    Blueberry Vodka Lemonade

Garnish with fresh blueberries, lemon slices or a lemon wedge, and a sprig of fresh mint.

    Recipe Tips

Use fresh lemon juice. Lemon is one of the main ingredients in this cocktail, so it’s important to use the fresh fruit. Skip the bottled lemon juice and squeeze a lemon in this drink. Plan on one lemon per cocktail.

Make your syrup ahead of time. Cocktail syrups need time to chill, so be sure to make your blueberry simple syrup in advance. It will keep in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks. Make it ahead of time, then enjoy it the night you use it.

Use your favorite orange liqueur. Feel free to use any orange with cure you have on hand in this recipe. It does not need to be one of the more expensive brands, and can certainly be triple sec.

How to Make Blueberry Simple Syrup

Homemade blueberry syrup is delicious, and quick to make. It only uses three ingredients, and you can easily make it a day or two before you're going to have these cocktails.

    Make Your Own Blueberry Vodka

Infusing vodka with fresh blueberry flavor is super easy to do and only takes a couple days to complete. Bonus - unlike its retail counterparts, there’s no added sugar or coloring in DIY Blueberry Vodka.
